His charismatic and fun-loving approach to his work made everyone fall in love with the 71-year-old. However, the current voice of AEW went through a tough time in his life, when he was diagnosed with skin cancer, back in 2021. Since then, Ross has undergone chemotherapy and fought against his unfortunate illness. Recently, the AEW commentator shared a positive update concerning his health after the cancer battle.

Jim Ross is almost back to full health, after battling skin cancer since 2021

In a recent Twitter post, the host of ‘Grilling JR’ shared an update on his improving health, after successfully battling skin cancer. After beating the illness, with the help of chemotherapy, Ross, unfortunately, incurred a few wounds.

This is a common phenomenon among patients who contract cancer and choose to operate it using chemotherapeutic procedures.

Even though these wounds might not be critical, they need to be healed to get back to full health.

However, Ross claims to have treated his wound by 43%, which is excellent progress in returning to his usual self. Moreover, the WWE Hall of Famer is also excited to return to AEW, during the same week. Therefore, the former WWE announcer serves as an inspiration for successfully defeating cancer with his strong willpower during his 70s.

How did The WWE Hall of Famer defeat skin cancer, back in 2021?

Jim Ross is a hero, for battling cancer and coming out on top. The legendary WWE commentator got diagnosed with skin cancer, through a CT scan in October 2021. Then, he went through 22 successful radiation treatments, and shared a delightful update after a couple of months.

In a tweet, the former WWE announcer wrote “I’m CANCER FREE! We did it!”, while announcing his return to AEW Dynamite: New Year’s Smash. Fans of the iconic voice heaped him with praise and gave him a welcome reception.

Therefore, after this recent update, fans of WWE and AEW would be delighted to see him back to his best. We also wish Good Ol’JR, a healthy life going forward.
