We often view WWE superstars in a rose-tinted glass. They are put on a pedestal as the epitome of strength and ever-lasting youth. But in reality, we see a lot of stars surrendering to age and the growing physical complexities. The latest one to hit the list is none other than Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle.

It seems like the veteran grappling savant isn’t at his best health-wise. Like most of the veterans, he is paying the price of putting his health on the line for years. In a recent disheartening update, the 54-year-old WWE legend left fans in deep gloom.

Pro wrestlers deal with years of punishment their body takes, and it catches up to them, eventually. There’s Hulk Hogan who has been battling his surgery-stricken body for a while now. With Angle, the Hall of Famer has some issues in his upper body.

The 220 lb wrestling giant is lacking strength in his body muscles. Earlier, he disclosed he would opt for further surgery in 2024 so that he can be around his kids. The recent update only cemented that claim with a pinch of added seriousness.

During the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the Hall of Famer gave a detailed report of his recent health status. Angle noted, ” I can’t feel my pinky fingers. You know, I have a lot og atrophy in my arms. I don’t have a lot of strength. I can only push the weights about 60 forward. It’s just I don’t have a lot of strength in my upper body and so the thing is, if you look at my chest out there, you will see there’s a dip here. Yeah, okay. That’s from my neck. That’s a nerve. That died and I no longer had this muscle in my chest. I have a complete ripple through my chest. It will never come back. And I am afraid it’s going to happen again.

” So I am going to have to have fusions sooner than later. Because if I don’t, the damage is going to get worse and worse. And then you know my arms are going to end up just shrinking to nothing”, The Wrestling Machine continued.

Angle was one of the best wrestlers of all time and earned the moniker of Wrestling Machine due to his rigorous wrestling style. But this recent update by him shows it has taken a toll on him. This also meant a red signal for his teased WWE return.

Kurt Angle’s dream match in WWE doesn’t seem to materialize

Angle put an official end to his decorative career spanning over 20 years at WrestleMania 35 in 2019. But since everyone knows there’s no such steadfast retirement thing in pro wrestling, following in the footsteps of many other retired talents, Kurt Angle was also eying a return until now.

Earlier this year, the star sounded confident when addressed to a potential last match. Angle’s resilience is of no doubt as everyone is aware of his heroics of winning an Olympic medal with a brutally broken neck.

Capitalizing on that physical and mental stamina, Angle mentioned the door to return from his side would be open if the match had been built like the one cinematic encounter The Undertaker and AJ Styles had in WrestleMania 36.

However, it will possibly remain a dream for the former WWE Champion, as his bodily limitation called in.
