Despite its many faults, WWE has been known to look out for its beginner talent. Be it Brock Lesnar or Kurt Angle, they have always trusted their talents in the ring and given them a huge launchpad to push their talent. Unfortunately, not everyone can squeeze themselves into diamonds from coals. This is the case with one young NXT star.

Touted once as the next Brock Lesnar, fans have now received shocking details about the up-and-coming superstar Gable Steveson and his run at NXT.

With momentum firmly on his side, WWE tried pushing him much like Brock Lesnar by putting him in the spotlight numerous times. They evidenced this when he confronted Chad Gable at WrestleMania 38. Sharing the stage with a legend like Randy Orton, he tried to make an impact.

Unfortunately, things dipped for him, as WWE couldn’t really hype him up among fans. His push and debut to the main roster didn’t materialize and WWE sent him directly to NXT. Despite making his debut against Baron Corbin, the young athlete couldn’t make much noise, as fans heavily booed him.

Now, adding more to his worry, there have been concerning updates about his future. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated that the star is no longer a part of NXT Plans. He quoted: “Steveson has been officially removed from the NXT roster. I don’t know what that means past that’s happened, and there are no plans for him in NXT at this moment.”

This is definitely alarming, as fans and internal creative initially had huge hopes for him in the future. While he may find the odd support from some superstars, the perception of his personality hasn’t clicked with legends.

Last month, WWE legend Booker T, shared his criticism regarding the 23-year-old. He quoted: “I’m on the fence with this kid.” He further continued by saying, “They booed that boy out of the building.” The legend concluded by adding, “We ain’t looking for guys that just want to hang around and look good.”

Besides Booker T, fans have constantly trolled and mocked the superstar for displaying no charisma in the ring. The hatred was so vile, that many rooted for a heel like Corbin during their feud with each other.
