The latest edition of Monday Night RAW saw two huge official announcements regarding the WWE Championship and trade between RAW and SmackDown.
This week’s RAW was an action-packed one. Three title matches, Randy Orton being crowned the greatest wrestler by Ric Flair and a huge announcement regarding the WWE championship.
A few weeks back the Phenomenal AJ Styles made his way back to his kingdom, i.e SmackDown. He took part in the Intercontinental Championship tournament, where he went on to beat Daniel Bryan in a spectacular match to win the title.

However, at that time it wasn’t known who would shift over to the Red Brand.
Dolph Ziggler to face Drew McIntyre for the championship
Dolph Ziggler returned to RAW while Drew McIntyre was cutting a promo to start the show. The Showoff announced that he and his partner Robert Roode have been traded to RAW for the Intercontinental Champion AJ Styles.
Ziggler reminded McIntyre about his first un-successful stint in the WWE and if not for Dolph Ziggler, Drew second innings would be the same. Drew replied to that comment by pointing out Ziggler’s losing streak since the tag team broke up.

The Showoff felt Drew McIntyre owed him a favor for rebuilding his career and asked him for a title shot. McIntyre admitted to the fact that the Scottish Psychopath title was given to him by Ziggler and accepted the challenge for Extreme Rules.
WWE confirms the trade and the title match
With a couple of tweets, WWE officially announced that Drew McIntyre will defend his title against Dolph Ziggler at Extreme Rules.
However, at this moment the stipulation is a normal singles bout. One will have to wait and see if that changes. WWE also confirmed the trade of Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler to the red brand.

Dolph Ziggler will be Drew McIntyre’s third different opponent since beating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36. This new rivalry also looks like a filler feud, due to the absence of many superstars because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Lack of heel characters on the RAW roster is another reason.
Robert Roode is currently stuck in Canada due to the pandemic. It is interesting to see how WWE will use him once he returns.
Roode was a star in NXT but since joining the main roster he hasn’t had a great impact.
Ziggler and Roode are definitely are two talented athletes who are highly underused in pointless rivalries and mid-card matches. It would be interesting to see with performers absent, is this the time for Ziggler and Roode to shine.
