Drew McIntyre and the WWE have not made any moves to extend his contract after WrestleMania XL. Several negotiations have taken place between The Scottish Opportunist and WWE management, but a conclusion is yet to be reached. However, McIntyre had blurred the lines between kayfabe and his actual persona during this duration with his antics.

Now, NXT fame Alba Fyre accidentally posted a tweet on X carrying the officially unreleased poster of Clash at The Castle PLE. WWE had announced that the PLE will take place on June 15th, 2024. However, it did not reveal the location or the featuring superstars.

The now-deleted tweet, however, showcased Drew McIntyre as the primary superstar for the event which will be held in Glasgow, Scotland. The Scottish Opportunist was holding a sword in the poster, showcasing his importance in the event.

Thus, several fans are relieved that Drew McIntyre will stay in WWE and may probably even defeat Seth Rollins. Speaking about his contract, WON’s Dave Meltzer had also mentioned that as far as he knew, McIntyre was not going anywhere.

However, this still leaves a mystery about why there have been so many delays in the finalizing of the contract. Moreover, some of the fans are also scared that Drew McIntyre will leave WWE for Tony Khan’s AEW just like Edge after a home match. However, Dave Meltzer explained the reason behind the delays.

Dave Meltzer revealed that the cause of the delay wasn’t on WWE’s end, but on the end of McIntyre. He stated that Drew McIntyre was waiting for the audience’s feedback on his latest character, The Scottish Opportunist. Meltzer stated that McIntyre would have taken a break if things hadn’t worked and spent time with his family.

However, Drew McIntyre has seen tremendous growth. His transition from The Scottish Warrior to The Scottish Psychopath, to The Scottish Opportunist has wowed everyone. It is also speculated that McIntyre is probably commanding a higher price tag now.
