Dwayne Johnson Is Reportedly Reuniting With Fast and Furious Director for an Upcoming Action Film 4 Years After Parting Ways With the $5B Franchise

Dwayne Johnson has accomplished a remarkable level of success that serves as an inspiration for countless individuals. With unwavering dedication and hard work over the years, Johnson has scaled the pinnacle of the entertainment industry. Over the years, he has been a part of several successful films, and franchises. However, his ugly spat with Vin Diesel made him part ways with the $5 billion worth Fast and Furious franchise a few years ago.

However, as per the latest reports from Giant Freakin Robot, Johnson might star in Vanguard, which is set to be directed by Fast and Furious director, Justin Lin. The film is set to be a sci-fi film and will have Dwayne Johnson fight off an army of aliens, in the usual DJ fashion. Justin Lin has a specialty with aliens, as he directed several Star Trek films.

Despite bidding goodbye to the franchise, four years ago with Hobbs & Shaw, Dwayne Johnson might not be completely done with the crew and the production, except Vin Diesel. Lin had previously reportedly walked out of Fast X, after facing difficulties while working with Vin Diesel.

Both Lin and Johnson have expressed issues while working with Diesel, and the duo might have plenty to discuss off-camera.

Dwayne Johnson was last seen reprising his role in the multi-billion dollar franchise for the 2019 film, ‘Hobbs & Shaw’. However, it turned out to be his last outing for the franchise, before he left it. Johnson had previously expressed his issues with Vin Diesel, and the duo share a tense relationship. The 51-year-old shot the 2019 film without a single scene with Diesel.

However, despite the good news of Johnson reuniting with Lin, fans might still have one disappointing news up on their plate. Kelly McCormick revealed that there is still no upcoming talk about any potential sequel of Hobbs & Shaw.

She revealed that Johnson has a busy schedule and if he can fit time for the sequel, then the movie might go down. Although, this is not a confirmation but still a relief for the fans who thought they might never witness Johnson in the $5 billion franchise.
