The Rock said his father, WWE legend Rocky Johnson, took him to gym at an early age and later trained him on the wrestling mat. This, he said, was a hard learning curve. He said, “I grew up going to the gym with my dad. When I was five years old, he’d let me watch him work out. When I was 12, I picked up my first weight. After that he’d take me on the wrestling mats and just beat the sh*t out of me.”

The Hollywood star said despite this when he saw the likes of Jimmy Snuka, Tony Atlas, and the Road Warriors working out in the gym with intense focus, it motivated him. He added, ” These dudes would come into the gym and turn that motherf**ker out. They didn’t care who was around, or what was going on around them. Their focus was so intense. So training and training hard is in my blood. It’s in my DNA.”

It is fitting that a future WWE Champion was inspired by wrestling legends around him. Their dedication and focus helped him to become such a focused individual himself. Indeed, The Rock would have looked at those wrestlers as superheroes back in the day. And that kept him going.
