In his illustrious WWE career, John Cena has had many great achievements. The Cenation Leader, who has successfully transitioned into a Hollywood actor- joining the ranks of Dwayne Johnson and Dave Batista as a wrestler-turned-actor- is awaiting the release of Fast X, his latest movie. Much like his pro-wrestling career, Cena had a lukewarm start in Hollywood, before being considered for more meaty roles in high-budget movies. While he has played the lead in some projects, Cena still considers himself a supporter.
Recently, the 46-year-old lauded one of his formidable WWE opponents, Brock Lesnar, who he faced numerous times, for giving him an important lesson that admittedly helped him in Hollywood.

The 16-time-world champion recently caught up with Josh Horowitz for a chat ahead of the release of Fast X. After Horowitz mentioned Cena’s Hollywood career as a ‘supporting comedic’, the 46-year-old agreed and said it’s akin to his WWE stint. The Doctor of Thuganomics said some of his best, most memorable moments in wrestling were when he allowed people to be their best selves.

He said there were matches where he had to perform many moves to win the match, whereas Lesnar would get it with one move. “There’s another guy who’s a lot bigger and taller and more aggressive than me, that does one move and wins and his name is Brock Lesnar and he suplexes people, that’s it. He does one move and he wins a lot,” he said.
However, Cena said that Lesnar also helped people a lot with letting them go over. “But then when he loses, it’s a really big thing. He’s one who can bring the best out of people. I just had to get to the point and I had good guidance to be like ‘No just do your thing, put your hands in front of your face and win’,” he added.
After beating Cena multiple times, The Beast Incarnate finally lost to the franchise star in 2012 at WWE Extreme Rules. The win was a huge boost for the 46-year-old and added to his already growing stature as the numero uno guy in the promotion. Cena said it allowed him to become a supporter after that, where he was in a position to help other guys bring out their best, even while losing the bout to him.
This, admittedly, matches with his latest role in Fast X.

The 46-year-old broke his good guy mold with his entry into the $6 billion Fast and Furious franchise. As Jakob Toretto, the estranged brother of Dominik and Mia Toretto, Cena played the villain in F9. However, in the last installment, he plays a ‘cool uncle’.

Speaking about his role, the wrestler-turned-actor said his character wasn’t the coolest. He said he didn’t mind that.
“Uncle Jacob in Fast is not the coolest, but his journey is cool because I get to be vulnerable and I let a nine-year-old outshine me and that’s great, because the nine-year-old’s awesome and It’s a chance for him to be awesome on the big screen and what a moment for him. That’s the kind of my whole career is, being a supporter,” the 46-year-old added.

True to his words, Cena has lost to WWE United States Champion Austin Theory, giving the latter a much-needed career boost, repaying how Lesnar helped him out all those years ago.
