Eric Bischoff Did Not Hold Back on AEW’s “Bad Wrestling” Which Could Have Trashed WCW if He Had Tried That in the Company: “They Don’t Care About That”

WWE is one of the oldest-running wrestling promotions in the world. For several years, Vince McMahon’s WWE dominated the pro wrestling scene until Tony Khan came up with AEW. AEW developed itself into becoming one of the arch-rivals of WWE. However, wrestling veteran Eric Bischoff recently opened up on the quality of wrestling in AEW and didn’t hold back. Bischoff commented on their lack of improvement and efforts and compared the quality of wrestling in AEW to that of in WCW.

Eric Bischoff was a pivotal figure in WCW during their ratings war with WWE in the late 1990s. The companies were at battle with each other for a long time, with WWE coming out victorious of it due to many booking blunders from WCW’s side.

AEW is currently one of WWE’s arch-rivals and has given tough competition to Vince McMahon’s wrestling promotion for a long time. Ever since its inception, AEW has secured several former WWE superstars on its roster and utilized them.

However, not every one of them has been successful. AEW also recently came into the limelight after their over usage of bloody spots in their matches. Bischoff claimed in the podcast, ” I mean, there’s so much bad wrestling in AEW they don’t care about that. As long as they get their blood, or as long as they get one thing that they’re looking for.”

He further stated that if WCW followed the same quality of wrestling AEW does, then it would have been trashed way early.

Bischoff said, ” In my opinion. You may feel differently, cool and fans may feel differently. But for me, I look at that, if I would’ve done some of the stuff I’m seeing currently in AEW or have seen recently in AEW, if I would’ve done some of that in WCW, WCW would’ve been trashed”.

WCW was one of the highest-viewed wrestling shows for a long time, constantly beating WWE, until WWE took over, and eventually made WCW go out of business. Although AEW is still significantly behind WWE in terms of success, they are still going strong.
