One of Ryback’s closest friends has been Dolph Ziggler. Despite feuding multiple times, the two are close friends in real life. Not only were the two very professional in the ring, but they shared chemistry on social media as well. With such a deep bond, it is no surprise that The Big Guy would have a few unkind words for Vince McMahon after Ziggler’s release from the promotion.

Taking to Instagram, Ryback posted an image with Ziggler with the caption, “One of the best to ever do it.” Many experts and fans have made similar claims about Ziggler due to his in-ring prowess and selling ability. The bumps and moves Ziggler brings to his matches always elevate them to the next level. “Congratulations on getting out of Shawshank and amazing things to keep coming buddy,” Ryback added.

The last line is what caught fans off-guard. Ryback, comparing the WWE to a prison, echoes what Brock Lesnar said about Mr. Perfect’s immortal words. This gives a very negative connotation to the entire company. Where fans are sad and disappointed at the release of Ziggler, Ryback congratulated him for finding solace. This, added to what Ryback has said in the past about Vince McMahon and the WWE. And it does not paint a pretty picture.

Ryback’s disdain for Vince McMahon

Comparing the WWE to prison is just the tip of the iceberg when discussing Ryback’s hatred for Vince McMahon. When Mr. McMahon’s mother passed away in April 2022, the wrestling community was saddened. Despite being one of the most hated characters in the WWE, Vince McMahon just lost his mother. During this grieving period, Ryback took to social media to call Mr. McMahon’s late mother a derogatory term. The entire wrestling community condemned this behavior, and Ryback apologized in December of the same year.

This would not be the last time Ryback bad-mouthed the WWE. He would start an online feud with Booker T, who questioned his return to the squared circle. In his defense, the WWE’s legal team was not handing over the rights to his name. This was hurting him financially, and he wanted some payback. Despite his massive popularity online, the wrestling community never stood beside Ryback in his attacks on the WWE or Vince McMahon. Nevertheless, he has made his voice heard to offer his friend support after his unceremonious firing.
