The wrestling gods have answered the prayers of millions of fans. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has finally returned to WWE. And while many might feel that it was a one-off appearance at WWE Raw Day 1, he has declared that he is here to stay. In an in-ring segment with Jinder Mahal, the 51-year-old star had hinted that he wants to face off against his distant cousin, the current Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. However, there is one catch. Fans are unsure where this event will fit in the grand storyline.

While many believe that it would be better suited for WrestleMania 40, former Raw General Manager and booker, Eric Bischoff shares where the story will fit in best.

On the latest episode of his podcast 83 Weeks, Bischoff answered a few of fan questions. When the topic of Johnson’s return popped up, he shared how Johnson could “creatively” contribute to the story. Bischoff and his co-host agreed that Johnson going against Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber will make much more sense as compared to WrestleMania 40. “WrestleMania’s like the Super Bowl, right? Well, why not have two Super Bowls, if you can? “ The second “Super Bowl” in his opinion is the 2024 Elimination Chamber which will be held in Perth, Australia.

The former general manager also believes that this will help in promoting the company’s vision to organize more PLEs internationally. Apart from that, he also added that the face-off at Perth might eventually lead to a “monster of a pay-per-view match” between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.

What Bischoff wants at the Elimination Chamber is to see Reigns beat up Johnson. This would set the Undisputed Champion as a bigger threat for Rhodes ahead of WrestleMania 40.

While Bischoff stated that Elimination Chamber would be a great setting for the bout, another pro wrestling legend shared contradictory thoughts on the subject.

He also added that it is high time that WWE pulled this off and not let things simmer. According to T, Reigns is at the height of his career currently. Apart from that, he also stated that since the Brahma Bull has time on his hands, the promotion should seriously consider it. Looks like the biggest dilemma the pro wrestling community is currently facing is when the right time would be to see the behemoths clash. When do you think would be the right time for The Rock vs Roman Reigns fight?

One take at a time

For me pro wrestling has two things that I like the most, storytelling and fighting. Let?s just say movies are failing to keep me entertained in those departments. I grew up watching WWF and not WWE and any hardcore fan will agree that the two are not the same, but I love both iterations.
