A few days from now, audiences across the globe will be able to watch the latest offering from the Fast and Furious movie franchise, Fast X, at the theaters. While the core of the film’s cast remains the same, a big name missing is Dwayne Johnson. It is no secret that Johnson has a longstanding feud with Vin Diesel, the film’s protagonist.

However, Diesel is not the only actor from the franchise who has a beef with the $800 million Hollywood star. Another actor, who essayed a pivotal role, infamously called him a “clown” a few years ago, exposing their fallout. While the actual reason of the feud isn’t clear, one of Johnson’s impromptu lines from Fast & Furious 6, which was released in 2013, could have stirred the pot.

In the film, when Johnson’s character, Hobbs, arrived at the barbecue, Roman, played by Tyrese Gibson, said that they “better hide the baby oil”. Hobbs clapped back with “you better hide that big-ass forehead”. The line is met with Ludacris (Tej Parker in the movie) spitting his drink while Gibson stood dejected, as he managed a feeble “I was just joking” in response.

According to IMDb, the line was improvised by Dwayne Johnson, whose response caught the others off-guard. The reactions used in the movie are genuine. As seen in the movie, Tyrese was hurt, which could have played a part in their beef later on.

In 2017, Tyrese took to social media to call out The People’s Champion and the latter’s ex-brother-in-law and producer Hiram Garcia for breaking the Fast and Furious family.

“I guess dreams do come true congratulations to @hhgarcia41 and @therock you guys are just amazing you really broke up the #FastFamily… I got 3 years of venting on this clown – They offered but YOU didn’t have to agree with a solo #HobbsMovie,” part of his post read.

Dwayne Johnson however had an interesting take on the controversy. Let’s find out what he said.

The Rock deemed the feud one-sided, was disappointed with his longtime friend’s social media rants

Anyone who follows ‘The Great One’ will know that he seldom replies to controversies and Tyrese Gibson’s comments were no exception. The 51-year-old kept it classy when asked about the fallout.

Appearing on Watch What Happens: Live in 2018, the Hobbs & Shaw actor said, “That whole thing with Tyrese, it was pretty disappointing because I had been friends with Tyrese for a very long time. I always feel like a beef requires two people to actually jump in it, and it was pretty one-sided and he had voiced his opinion a lot on social media.”

He added he hadn’t had a conversation with Gibson and wasn’t planning to have one. However, in 2021, Gibson announced that his beef with Johnson was over and the two had reconnected. Since then, there have been no reports of bad blood between the two.
