Roman Reigns is often criticized for his status as a WWE Champion despite being a part-timer. Due to his part-time schedule, he barely wrestles and hence receives major criticism from the WWE universe over his rare title matches. However, one former WCW Champion has come in defense of The Tribal Chief.

WWE legend and former WCW Champion, Booker T was invited to the most recent Hall of Fame podcast. During the podcast, the inventor of the Spinaroonie, revealed his opinion on Reigns.

Though the WWE fans are not happy with the part-time schedule of Roman Reigns, King Booker supported Reigns.

He said, “People are gonna find something to complain about all the time. I think one of the biggest complaints was guys work too much… Go back to the old days and just think about how many times Hogan worked on television in a calendar year. Might be less than that, and nobody was bigger than Hogan…

King Booker drew the analogy of Reigns’ run with Hogan’s run during the 80s when Hulk Hogan was a household name and a game changer for the pro-wrestling business. WWE’s reason for such a schedule for Reigns was building up The Tribal Chief and cashing in on the run.

How many matches has Roman Reigns been in this year? Just eleven. But SmackDown’s GM, Nick Aldis has another reason for the low title defenses from Roman Reigns.

SmackDown GM compares Roman Reigns to Arnold Schwarzenegger

Nick Aldis was invited to The Bump podcast on November 15th which premiered on WWE’s official YouTube channel. During the interview, Nick Aldis stated that Roman Reigns is at the top of the mountain and other superstars ascend to the top only to be fed to Reigns.

He gave the example of the iconic role of Arnold Schwarzenegger from the docudrama Pumping Iron from 1977. Nick Aldis said, “I think Roman is the guy, who’s sort 0f, he’s looking for things ‘Look, when I wanna eat, I eat’.
