WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley is one of the most dominant forces in the WWE roster now. She proved her mettle after she dismantled everyone and anyone standing in her way. She cemented her top-dog status when she secured victory in her WrestleMania match against Charlotte Flair. Moreover, all of this happened after she joined her current family of Judgement Day.
While speaking to India Today, she revealed more information about her journey from Rhea Ripley to Mami. She credited a WWE Hall of Famer for the impact he had on her as a child. She also divulged that the male superstar played a massive part in her getting into the pro wrestling business.

In a recent interview with IndiaToday, she revealed how she had been a fan of Edge aka Adam Copeland since her childhood, and his involvement helped her evolve as a performer. She said, “He really brought out this different side of Rhea Ripley that I had hidden, going up to the main roster. I was very, very scared with the new environment.”
Rhea Ripley endured some struggles to replicate her performances from her NXT days. Despite the massive push she received during her main roster run, she had some reservations at bay. However, joining The Judgement Day changed things for her. Learning under the mentorship of her childhood idol meant that the Australian improved as a performer.
Ripley added, “So I ended up changing in ways that I didn’t like and he helped me get back to my old ways of just not caring and being myself and going out there and being confident within myself. And he made me feel comfortable.”
She even revealed that Edge’s sudden retirement due to the neck injury made her sad. Being a massive fan of Edge meant that she cried at the heartbreaking announcement. Like everyone else, including Edge, she felt she would never see him wrestle again.
Edge’s unexpected return in the 2020 Royal Rumble changed things for WWE and Ripley. After her inclusion in the Judgement Day faction, where Edge played the part of the leader, she got a golden opportunity to work with her idol.

Beth Phoenix might avenge Rhea Ripley for Edge
However, Ripley was involved in a segment with Edge where she had to kick him out of the faction he created. It led a mixed tag team match between Finn Balor and Ripley against Edge and Beth Phoenix at Elimination Chamber.
Fans considered Beth Phoenix as the best match for Ripley then, as Ripley has dominated the RAW roster with her brute force. The Glamazon was known for her brute force too during her active run till 2012. The two superstars showed their strength when they delivered power bombs to their male counterparts during the match.
