The term WWE springs a lot of emotions in the minds of wrestling fans. The bygone Monday Night Wars, The Attitude Era, and The Ruthless Aggression Era are still etched in the minds of many fans. Many superstars came and went, but the Boss would remain constant. This was until June this year, in light of various allegations, former WWE chairman Vince McMahon had to finally step away from his beloved brainchild.
Former wrestler Dutch Mantel, in a recent interaction with Smack Talk, gave a possible insight into the final days of McMahon’s WWE regime.

Mantel said,” He [Triple H] took his time and turned it around. Now it has so much positivity to it. And it took just a good person who understands the wrestling business and storytelling because I don’t think Vince gave a cr*p. He was making money, and he was, ‘Hey, I’m on rest; you guys figure it out.”
“I think he put the personal feeling to it that he might just not like this guy because of a personal reason; I’m not saying that’s what happened. I don’t think he wanted to be sat down and told this long storyline. You do this for 50 years, and you get burned out.” added Mantel, known to WWE fans as Zeb Colter.
The allegations against Vince McMahon
Wall Street Journal in June that Vince McMahon had allegedly paid 4 former female WWE stars a reported sum of $12 million to keep his affairs a secret. This news swept the rug under the wrestling world’s feet and demand for McMahon to resign started doing the rounds.

Vince McMahon undoubtedly has had a major part in building up WWE to where it is now. The promotion is a household name all around the world, thanks to him. But as the recent comments by Mantell speculate, it was quite apparent that McMahon had lost some of his magic touch and even interest in the day-to-day running of the promotion. And the fans’ excitement about the recent regime change serves up as a testament to that.
