Dwayne Johnson, who gained popularity as a professional wrestler in the WWE, made a successful transition to Hollywood. There, he quickly became a highly recognized figure. Although he already had a significant fan base due to his earlier success, Johnson’s perseverance and dedication were crucial factors in his rise to the top of the entertainment industry. His hard work and determination have been instrumental in helping him achieve his current level of success.

In addition to his successful acting career, Dwayne Johnson is a shrewd entrepreneur and has invested in several business ventures. His most valuable investment is in the Teremana Tequila brand, which is currently estimated to be worth $3.5 billion. Johnson has made his name in different spheres of life and has been awarded for it as well.

Awards and accolades that Dwayne Johnson won in his WWE career

The Rock, aka Dwayne Johnson, has had one of the most celebrated careers in professional wrestling. Fans remember his time in the WWE as one of the greatest careers in the history of the company. Johnson rose to success during the Attitude Era, specifically during the late 90s.

He would stay loyal to the company till the mid-2000s, before finally leaving WWE to join Hollywood and become a full-time actor. However, during his time in WWE, Johnson won multiple awards, championships and broke several records as well.

Johnson was awarded the ‘Match of the Year’ award in 1999 by Pro Wrestling Illustrated for his bout against Mankind. He was again awarded the same accolade three years later for his WrestleMania 18 match against Hollywood Hogan. The 50-year-old also won the ‘Most Popular Wrestler of the Year’ two times in a row in the year 1999 and 2000. He also won the ‘Wrestler of the Year’ award in 2000. All of these awards were presented to him by Pro Wrestling Illustrated.

Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter awarded him with best gimmick in 1999, the most charismatic wrestler in 1999-2002, 2011, and 2012. WON also inducted him into their Hall of Fame class of 2007, a prestigious induction reserved for some of the best in the business.

Apart from these, Johnson is also an 8-time WWE Champion, 2-times WCW Champion, 2-times WWF Intercontinental Champion, 5-times WWE Tag-team Champion with various different partners such as Mankind, Chris Jericho, and The Undertaker. The Brahma Bull is also the winner of the 2000 Royal Rumble match and a 9-time WWE Slammy award winner.

However, these are not the only records and accolades, The Brahma Bull achieved in his career. He also ranked No. 2 of the top 500 singles wrestlers in the PWI 500 in 2000. All of these achievements can testify to The Rock’s illustrious and decorated professional wrestling career. And all the push he received throughout his career.

Dwayne Johnson Awards and Nominations in his acting career

Soon after achieving everything there was to achieve during his wrestling career, Johnson completed his swift transition to Hollywood and became an actor. He would begin his acting journey with a brief role in the 2001 film, The Mummy Returns starring Brendan Fraser.

He would then follow it up with multiple other castings in different movies before becoming a regular name in the industry. Johnson has starred in several iconic roles throughout his career opposite several big names in the industry. From starting his career in a small role in the 2001 film, Johnson recently starred as Black Adam in the titular role of the DCEU film.

Some of his most iconic roles and movies include Black Adam, Moana, Hobbs & Shaw, Central Intelligence, Rampage, Jumanji film series, Fast and Furious film series, and Baywatch to name a few. He has also been a part of TV shows as well. Some of them include, The 70s show, Star Trek, Wake-up Call, and The Ballers.

Although not all of his films have achieved critical success, most of them have been commercially successful. Throughout his career, Johnson has received a total of 73 nominations and won 17 awards. He won the Special Achievement award at the Webby Awards 2021.

He was also listed on the 100 Most Influential People in the World by TIMES in both 2016 and 2019.

He won the Teen Choice Award in  2018, 2017, 2015,2014, and 2013. Johnson was also awarded the ‘Favorite Male Movie Star’ for Jungle Cruise (2021) at the People’s Choice Awards 2022. He starred in Jungle Cruise alongside Emily Blunt, and the film was widely loved by the audience all-round the globe. Johnson most recently won the 2023 Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Movie Actor for his film, Black Adam.

All of these accolades and records can hence prove what the distinguished career Johnson has had. He recently concluded shooting the upcoming action-comedy film with Chris Evans, ‘Red One’ which is scheduled to release later this year.
