The world of pro wrestling is often dismissed by many as ‘fake’. However, these performances need to be timed and perfected down to the last millisecond for people to believe what they’re watching. While not every pro wrestling outfit has achieved the zenith of live performances, WWE is one of the best ones. Moreover, wrestlers like Randy Orton have mastered the art of making their theatrics and moves look nothing short of reality.

However, live performances do carry a chance of going wrong and the most seasoned of artists can make mistakes. But, actors and musicians can hype their audience and do another take. This luxury isn’t available to pro wrestlers. Recently, the WWE Universe came down harsh on Austin Theory for botching a segment with Randy Orton and Kevin Owens. In fact, even rapping megastar Ice Cube’s son found the lapse in bad taste.

The 15 March episode of Friday Night SmackDown saw the WWE Universe cringing, laughing, and getting infuriated. The reason for this was a failed oversell by Austin Theory when he received a stunner from Kevin Owens. The theory had to get in position for an RKO immediately after. However, he almost jumped to Randy Orton to eat another signature move.

Tweeting about the botch on X, Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr. wrote, “This some house show shit lmaoo what are y’all doing 😂.” The tweet gathered several comments from the WWE Universe who further trashed AT for ruining the RKO of Randy Orton.

Moreover, fans started comparing things to AEW. One of the fan comments said, “Austin messed up. Don’t stoop to AEW level, please.” This dug a chuckle out of O’Shea Jackson Jr. who wrote, “Stoop to AEWs level? Dawg I’m laughing.”

Many fans battered the failure and threw more comments about the segment looking like AEW.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Spotted at Local Target Store by Fan Despite Net Worth of $800M, Likely Reason Revealed

Austin Theory is one of the biggest rising stars of WWE. But he is still rather new compared to the seasoned veterans he was in the ring with like Randy Orton and Kevin Owens. Despite this, overselling a move isn’t an Austin Theory original. In fact, his idol, The Rock has often been dubbed the ‘King of Overselling’.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson stands proud as one of the most popular pro wrestlers in the world. However, while The Rock is definitely very popular, he isn’t flawless. Being someone who mostly wins his matches, it was sometimes difficult for him to be on the receiving end of blows and defeats. This vulnerability often emerged against one of his biggest rivals.

Stone Cold Steve Austin, the man who popularized the stunner the most, delivered the blow to several wrestlers. However, Dwayne Johnson was almost the only wrestler who oversold the move. There are several clips of The Rock backflipping and wriggling to signal to the audience that he really got hit badly.
