The connection doesn’t stop there. He also got into an iconic turf war with the 69-year-old legend in the 90s.

Before becoming the poster boy of the New Generation Era alongside Shawn Michaels, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart was involved in a feud with Hogan. The real-life heat started after Hogan got involved in the WrestleMania IX main event match in 1993. WWE superstar Yokozuna defeated Hart to win the WWE (then WWF) Championship. However, Hogan entered the ring and within 22 seconds won the belt from the new champion.

This was part of the work. But according to Hart’s memoir, Hogan refused to fulfill his end of the bargain. This led to real life heat. Recalling it, the Hulkster said, “Bret Hart thought I basically sabotaged his career, because Bret thought he should have been the greatest wrestler that ever lived, and he said it was my fault.”

Hogan’s loss led to an angry visit from the Canadian wrestler, who didn’t mince his words.

In his book, Hitman: My Real Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling, Hart wrote that Hulk Hogan promised to give drop the belt to him. It was why he won the championship from Yokozuna in the first place. But Hogan started to show his reluctance thereafter.

Hart confronted the 69-year-old colleague in the locker room after the latter’s loss at King of the Ring. “Well, you’re right, You’re not in my league. On behalf of myself, my family and most of the boys in the dressing room, you can go f**k yourself.’,” excerpts from his book read.
