WWE legend Hulk Hogan is one of the biggest names in pro wrestling. Although he was a larger-than-life character in the ring, his in-ring work was often questioned. A former WWE Champion who headlined WrestleMania against ‘The Hulkster’ had some harsh words for the WWE legend.

Hogan’s in-ring work was criticized despite being a mega draw during his heyday.

Former WWE Champion Sycho Sid, who faced ‘The Immortal One’ at WrestleMania, had some harsh words for him.

Sid, also known as Sid Vicious, faced off against Hulk Hogan in the main event of WrestleMania 8. However, the match didn’t live up to the expectations.

Talking about the match, Sid revealed that the match didn’t deliver because Hogan was not a good worker.

“There’s a Way to Do Things”: Hulk Hogan, Who Has Been Criticized in the Past For His Attitude Backstage, Fired a Shot at Stone Cold Steve Austin For Walking Out Before Brock Lesnar Fight

Sid said, “Well yeah [there was more money for WrestleMania] but the thing is you don’t see that money for three months so you don’t think about that dude. Yeah, I turned down more money than I was getting there, it was okay. It was nothing that I’m gonna say it was my favorite night of the year or anything like that. It was a horrible match with [Hulk] Hogan that night too. Hogan was a horrible worker, so that’s what made that.” (H/T POST Wrestling).

The match was indeed not received well and had a disastrous finish with Hogan winning via disqualification. During the finish, Papa Shango missed his cue and was late to break up the pin. Sid clearly kicked out of Hogan’s leg drop to avoid the three count. Shango then interfered to cause the disqualification finish, which made little sense.

While Hogan may not have been one of the most skilled in-ring workers, to blame him entirely for the WrestleMania disaster may not seem appropriate.

Sid wasn’t a wrestling fan

The former WWE champion further disclosed that he was in the wrestling business to make money and not because he was a fan.

He revealed, “Honestly, the WWF, it was such a night-to-night deal, every show was a big show. I know it was WrestleMania, don’t get me wrong, but like a year later, I forgot there was a WrestleMania. So someone said, ‘You remember being at WrestleMania?’ I went, ‘No.’”

He continued, “Again, and I’m not trying to make anybody mad at me, but I was in this business different than everybody else was. I was in it for just the business, I wasn’t a wrestling fan. I got in it to make money, so I never looked at a booking sheet, I didn’t care what town I was in, I didn’t care who I was working with.”

While it may come off as selfish, but at the end of the day, Sid was trying to make money as best as he could. The pro wrestling business offered him that opportunity and he grabbed it with both hands. It is refreshing to see someone being this straightforward about their intentions.
