Ronda Rousey has done it all in her illustrious career. She won an Olympic medal, conquered UFC, and now dominates in WWE. Apart from her success in combat sports, Rousey also has a few Hollywood movies under her belt. Her global appeal means people in the film industry have been keen to cast her for roles suited to her Baddest Woman on the Planet persona.

‘The Rowdy One’ who was the first female fighter that UFC signed, has starred in franchise movies like The Expendables, Fast & Furious, and Charlie’s Angels.

In 2015, before she began filming for another of her Hollywood films, Rousey talked about how she wanted to do more movies going forward. She also stated that she intended to do a lot of ‘cool’ things in Hollywood, including doing her own stunts.

Ronda Rousey wanted to be the best stunt actress of all time

As she rose to prominence as the undefeated UFC Champion, Ronda Rousey became a household name. She was easily one of the most popular MMA fighters during his run with the company. Hence, it was only a matter of time before Hollywood came calling.

Her first movie appearance came in the star-studded action movie ‘The Expendables’ in 2014. She followed it by starring in Furious 7 alongside WWE star Dwayne Johnson the next year. In 2015, in an interview with TMZ, Rousey talked about retiring at her peak and her Hollywood ambitions.

Rousey said she doesn’t want to be in MMA for too long and give a shot at other things she wanted to pursue. She mentioned she will begin filming for a movie soon ’22 Miles’. She also mentioned she could essentially be the female version of Jackie Chan and do all her own stunts.

The current SmackDown Women’s Champion said, “I think I could be the first person to really do a lot of cool things in Hollywood.. I want to be like the best stunt actress of all time so I want to be able to do like my own car stunts and my own high fall, my own fight scene all in one long shot someday.”

It is not a surprise that the athlete known as The Baddest Woman on the Planet wanted to perform her own stunts. Hollywood actor Jackie Chan gained a reputation for performing his own stunts even in dangerous action sequences. It looks like Ronda Rousey wanted to follow in the legend’s footsteps.

Jackie Chan was once unfamiliar with Ronda Rousey

Although Ronda Rousey harbored ambitions to imitate the great Jackie Chan in her Hollywood career, the iconic actor had no idea who Rousey was.

A few years ago, while Jackie Chan was in Beverly Hills, TMZ caught up with him and asked a few questions. They also asked him if he knew about Rousey’s skills. Chan was confused and gave a two-word response and said, “Huh, No.”

This was baffling for some fans since Rousey was dominating in MMA and starting a career in Hollywood. These are areas where Jackie Chan established his legacy. It may be possible that the actor may not have followed the UFC to have any knowledge about Ronda Rousey.
