“I Don’t Think He Realises What He Did for Me”: John Cena Reacts to Vince McMahon’s New Favorite Wrestler

John Cena is grateful to WWE and always will be in his life. He has always said this in his appearance on any interview, podcast, and even in public appearances. 

John Cena got the opportunity of a lifetime when WWE signed him. Throughout the years Cena has tried giving so much back to WWE for all the success the Vince McMahon company gave him.

Recently, appearing In the Envelope podcast on the YouTube channel of Backstage, John Cena claimed he is thankful to WWE Universe and Austin Theory for the life teachings they gave him.

John Cena said, “I say this all the time, there come a time when I’ll be able to thank the WWE audience for all that they’ve taught me and that’s not just from a professional standpoint. They made me into the man I am. Straight up and especially in lessons of like humility and failure, persistence, countless things that they never will understand.”

He added, “And when I hear something from you like hey I watched WrestleMania 21 or Austin Theory for example of like I watched John Cena as a kid and he’s never got to give up got me through a lot of stuff and that’s why I’m here now. I don’t think he realizes what he did for me and it’s not just from a professional, I reference WWE in my daily life. It’s something that I’m grateful for because it’s made me into the man I am.”

It is easy to say John Cena is arguably the best WWE superstar in all aspects. He took the company global with three words catchphrase ‘Never Give Up’ and also gave ample memorable moments. 

John Cena on being the part of ‘OVW 4’

The ‘OVW 4’ are the four future WWE world champions who graduated from the Ohio Valley Wrestling batch of 2002. The WWE superstars are John Cena, Batista, Randy Orton, and Brock Lesnar. Cena always gets nostalgic whenever someone talks about OVW.

Cena, till 1999, was pursuing a career in bodybuilding when he graduated from college. He had no wrestling experience whatsoever until he landed in UPW for a year. In the year 2000, WWE sent Cena to OVW after having a couple of dark matches.

Cena had no experience of professional wrestling as much as the other three members of ‘OVW 4’. In his recent interview, he called himself feeling under-qualified when he saw the likes of Lesnar, Orton, Batista, Shelton Benjamin, etc.

However, John Cena broke all barriers and with his ‘Never Give Up’ learned the WWE style of wrestling. Since his debut in 2002, there were some rough times, but Cena still went on to become one of the greats in WWE.
