Dwayne Johnson and John Cena gave two classic matches back in 2012 and 2013 at WrestleMania 28 and 29. The entire wrestling universe knows the history behind the rivalry between these two megastars. However, recently, The Cenation Leader shared he was being selfish when he called out The Rock. The 16-time champion shed light on how he was wrong when he called out The Brahma Bull for a match. As per him, his perspective was wrong, and he even apologized to DJ’s mother.

Recently, while promoting Fast X, the ‘Franchise Player’ appeared on a live taping of the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast. The host asked him about his current friendship with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Cena shared it is good and recalled only the time when there was a crack in their friendship. Cena had taken exception to The Rock’s comments about still loving the business despite not being active anymore.

Cena said, “So I would like to say in my perspective we are always been good, except for one little patch where I really messed up. I got selfish and me being living WWE at the point and not having any concept of growth or someone else’s perspective, I took Dwayne’s comments as not genuine.”
The Peacemaker star added, “It’s only when we started the build-up to New York that I got to look at myself in the mirror deeper and say I was wrong. Not only did I hope that he would understand my perspective, but a year later I could admit that my perspective was wrong.”
There was tension between Cena and Johnson for nearly a year as per the WWE legend. However, they once again became friends and when Cena entered Hollywood, The Rock gave him tips.

Now as Johnson is returning to the Fast and Furious franchise, he might reunite with Cena on the big screen. Hence, the anticipation for the film is very much high, like their match in WrestleMania 28.

WWE announced the match between John Cena and The Rock at WrestleMania 28, one year in advance. They did it right on RAW after WrestleMania 27 after Cena lost his match against The Miz. However, The Cenation Leader said his attitude during the build could’ve been better. Cena took certain shots at DJ and even went off script on a few occasions.
The Peacemaker star said, “Yes it worked, yes we sold tickets and yes people loved it. People choose sides, it was a polarizing event We could’ve done it with everyone working together and playing nice and that was my fault.”
