WWE demands a hectic schedule from its wrestlers and keeps them engaged. To ensure a successful match, wrestlers must put in a lot of travel time and rigorous training. They thus didn’t have enough time to sleep and recover. The same goes for WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar, who had developed certain bad habits because of his busy schedule and workload.

In his autobiography, Death Clutch, The Beast Incarnate, discussed how he was addicted to Vodka and Vicodin because of his hectic schedule.

He spoke about the event that occurred before his first WrestleMania, during which he suffered broken ribs and tore the PCL (Posterior Cruciate Ligament) in his right knee. He also didn’t have time to rest due to his hectic schedule, which involved a lot of travel. In order to relieve the discomfort, he started drinking vodka and taking Vicodin.

The Beast stated, “I could easily have ended up like some of the less fortunate. I had been popping pills for a while just to kill the pain of being on the road, of injuries that never heal. And I started drinking vodka.”

“Lots of vodkas. I can’t even tell you how much for sure. But it seems like a bottle every one or two days, with a couple of hundred pain pills each month, to go with it.”

How did Brock Lesnar overcome addiction?

WWE stars have been caught in these types of situations before, all across the WWE universe. Thus, Lesnar was not the first person to develop an addiction to such a thing.

He noted in his book that compared to other superstars who were active at the time, his consumption was lesser. The wrestlers, according to Lesnar, were actually entrapped and had no other way out. He consequently concluded that if he spent much time enough, he would likewise turn into one of them after reflecting on his life.

He stated, “I found myself getting caught up in everything. And I think I lost sight of reality for a while. But I have no regrets. I chose to jump off the train and move as close to my daughter as possible. Nothing was more important to me than making sure my family life would be stable.”

Additionally, he got off the bad habit track since he understood it was ruining his life. Thus, he continued to leave these things behind in order to regain control of his life.

Given that this had occurred early in his career, it’s noteworthy that he overcome and became one of the greatest wrestlers of all time
