For a long time, Kevin Sullivan has been claiming that he was the one who convinced Hulk Hogan to turn heel. Before, there was uncertainty about this claim but now everything has been cleared as Hogan’s former teammate and friend Kevin Nash solidified his claim.

On the recent episode of his podcast ‘Kliq This’ the WWE legend Kevin Nash gave answers to some popular fan questions. One of them was about Kevin Sullivan’s claim. To this, Nash replied that Sullivan was the only person who was with Hogan that day, so he totally believes that he is the one who convinced him.

Answering the question, Kevin Nash said, “Kevin was the only person Hulk was with that day….they were in Kevin’s condo up at Daytona Beach. I 100 percent believe that.”

Hulk Hogan swapping his yellow and red gimmick for the black and white was a really big deal back then. It turned the professional wrestling world completely upside down. And the signs of that became visible within the very first minute.

Hogan’s heel turn gave fans a new perspective on heel wrestlers

Before Hulk Hogan, there were hardly any instances of a major face turning heel wrestler in the professional wrestling industry as the companies were rarely taking the risk of turning their mainstream wrestler against the fans.

Hulk Hogan was one of those professional wrestlers who had the creative control. And he perfectly used that to maintain his image of a ‘hero’ in front of the fans. And when the creatives introduce the idea of a massive heel turn to him, he hesitated.
