John Cena is one of the most famous WWE superstars and a heartthrob in Hollywood. He has set a rigid spot in both the wrestling and film industries. But, when it comes to relationships, then this 16-time world champion has a long history.

During the 2010s, John Cena was in a relationship with the former WWE superstar and the longest-reigning divas champion Nikki Bella. Fans loved this couple and when Cena asked “the question”, everyone was sure that the couple would tie the knot anytime sooner.

However, it didn’t happen, and the couple broke up. Even after breaking up, both superstars were quite open about their relationship, sharing mutual respect. A few years back, John Cena talked about his moving-in experience with Nikki Bella in an interview on the show named Today.

During the interview, the hosts ask The Cenation Leader about his moving-in experience. And, John unhesitantly mentioned the regret he had. The interviewer asked, “When you move in with someone it does kinda changes the whole paradigm. How did it work with you? Did you move in with your now fiance or did you move in with you?”

To this, the Marine star said, “I asked Nicole to move in with me…..Simply because we both were living busy lives and I wanted to show her that I am ready to be more serious. Now, When I look at what I had done then…to…what I would do now, I just wish I had asked her to marry me then”

John Cena and Nikki Bella’s love story

After being friends for quite a long time, Cena and Nikki decided to move a step further and start dating. The couple went on their first date in 2012. And just a year after, they decided to move in together. WWE also included their relationship in a storyline, which fans loved a lot. In 2017, after their inter-gender match against the Miz and Maryse, John Cena asked Nikki to marry him. And the fans went crazy. However, just a year after, the couple broke up.

The main reason behind their break up was that Nikki Bella wanted to feel motherhood and John Cena was not ready for kids. And this led to the couple breaking up. However, Both Cena and Nikki have now moved on. John married Shay Shariatzadeh in 2020 and Nikki Bella married the love of his life Artem Chigvintsev in 2022. Even though John Cena and Nikki Bella had broken up five years ago. They are still one of the most loved couples in the history of WWE.
