Cody Rhodes has had a long history with the pro wrestling manager Paul Heyman. In a recent promo on WWE after his return in the Royal Rumble 2023, the two had a serious confrontation. Rhodes talked about how Heyman has helped his family in the darkest of times. When the Rhodes household was suffering from the ills of economic crisis, Heyman was their guardian angel. The manager was strong with his words and ended up getting Dusty Rhodes to sign a contract that paid him handsomely and ended his family’s misery. In the confrontation, both Rhodes and Heyman got emotional over this reminiscence. However, Heyman was there with some other intentions altogether.

He ended up hurting Rhodes by confessing that his father had told him how he was not proud to have Cody, and that Reigns was the son he always wanted.

Cody Rhodes explains his father’s words

After what Paul Heyman had said about Dusty Rhodes, all the fans and WWE superstars were shocked to the core.
