With WrestleMania 39 around the corner, probably the ultimate X factor of the entire show, the Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns’ main event match is creating more and more suspense among the fans. While Roman Reigns fanbase is rooting for the current undefeated Champion with their usual confidence, one major part of the wrestling Universe also believes that this time we are going to get a new champion, and who is none other than The American Nightmare.

Everything about Cody Rhodes is different, starting from his storyline, and promo, to the ultimate fuel behind him going strong and steady toward the coveted title run. Rhodes wanted to bring the title home for the sake of his late father, Dusty Rhodes, who never managed to achieve it for himself. That special emotional tone is what made his journey more unique than the others.

Revealing his future plans, Rhodes noted, ‘it’s vindication for those who are just in it now; this is their first ride with ‘The American Nightmare.’ They like what they’re seeing then. It’s vindication for those who have been there every step of the way, like the song Kingdom says, ‘I’ll follow you till the end.’ When is the end? Is it the end when I win the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship, or is it the end when I win that title and then take it to every single place I can possibly take it and excel and deliver on a level that no champion has done in years?’

The Universal Champion title contender also mentioned how different he finds himself from the rest of the modern Champions like Lesnar and Roman Reigns who opted for a lighter schedule immediately after their title win.

A title win won’t quench Cody Rhodes’ thirst as a wrestler

Keeping faith in the old golden era stars’ idealism, the 37-year-old stated, ‘ I want to cut a schedule like Bret Hart, like Ric Flair. I want to do something very different from [what] modern champions have done, where there’s a bit of a less is more schedule. I want a more is more schedule. It would mean vindication for me, for sure.’

The WWE title is the dream of every single wrestler in the promotion. The honor and glory it brings are absolutely unmatched. Coming back to the current holder of this prestigious accolade, The Tribal Chief remains undefeated for 3 years despite many attempts to take down his reign from time to time. Legendary figures like John Cena and Goldberg also tried to take on Reigns but eventually failed.
