Former WWE Champion Acknowledges Roman Reigns as His ‘Tribal Chief’

Roman Reigns entirely changed his character after turning heel. If you see his character four years ago compared to where he is today, the evolution of the Tribal Chief has been beautiful to witness.
Jeff Hardy is another wrestler whose evolution was witnessed firsthand by the fans. From Willow to Brother Nero, Hardy has always gone all out with his characters. Hardy is well respected amongst his peers as well. So, to get a stamp of approval from a legend like him is a noteworthy compliment.

In an interview with BT Sport, Jeff discussed the match between Big-E and Reigns, which will occur at Survivor Series. The interviewer asked Hardy about his first WWE Championship win and wondered if he felt any moment was more prominent than winning the championship itself.
Hardy said, “I think the reaction alone. Like so many, everybody believed in me, and the fans were with me the entire way leading up to the finals moments when I got my hands on [WWE Championship].”

Jeff called it a dream come true to hold the title and have the fans cheer him the way he did. He called the whole experience ‘surreal.’
Hardy won the WWE Championship for the first time against Triple-H and the Edge at Armageddon in 2008. He lost the championship to Edge after interference from Jeff’s brother, Matt Hardy, at Royal Rumble.

After talking about his memorable moments, he shifted his focus to talk about Roman’s transformation.
“When Roman’s music changed, you know, I knew he was on to something,” he said. “They were on to something, figuring all this out like he has found his place, man. This bloodline stuff is- its fire.”

Jeff also praised Big-E and said that when Big-E’s and Roman Reigns’ music hits, he’ll be excited to see what happens in their match.

The former world champion also acknowledged the Tribal chief’s work in WWE, “His stuff is so powerful, man. With him and The Usos and whole Bloodline and Paul Heyman, and the stuff with Brock a while back and all this.”
“It’s such a good time to be in pro-wrestling and to love pro-wrestling cause, man, it’s Survivor Series, and you can’t miss it if you’re a wrestling fan.”

Such high praises from a man who’s been in the professional wrestling business are worth a lot. Jeff Hardy has clearly said he respects what Reigns’ has done with his gimmick.
