“Kill The Undertaker” – The Great Khali Reveals Vince McMahon’s Instructions on His Smackdown Debut

Whenever new talents make their WWE main roster debut, they want to go up against someone who is already at the top. This way, the fans and the WWE Universe will notice them. For The Great Khali, this was the major reason behind his success. He made his SmackDown debut in 2006 and faced The Undertaker.
During an interview, Khali detailed how he ended up attacking The Undertaker on his first day.
Khali did not know who his opponent would be, but he knew his debut was upcoming. However, Vince McMahon soon informed Khali that he would have to kill The Undertaker. This made him extremely happy.

Not only did McMahon tell him whom he’s debuting against, but also that he will get to decimate a living legend. In fact, Khali took the opportunity during the interview to thank both WWE and Vince McMahon for the tremendous opportunity.
The Great Khali wasn’t nervous to face The Undertaker
The Great Khali hails from India, and he revealed that even his own friends were huge fans of The Undertaker. He revealed that when he was watching the show, there were only a few names that everyone bothered to remember – The Rock, Taker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, and Triple H.
Therefore, when he realized he would be debuting against ‘The Phenom’, he didn’t even stop to think how the fans would react. He was excited, and he couldn’t wait to be in the same ring as him.

The day he arrived backstage to attack The Undertaker, that was the first day his fellow Superstars saw him for the first time.

The Great Khali revealed that almost everyone was taken aback because of his size and height. Everyone kept talking about his height. However, it was after he defeated Taker that everyone started talking about him backstage.
While he was aware of what a big thing it was to not only debut against Taker, but also take him down, so did everyone else. Nobody thought a first-timer in WWE’s main roster would batter The Undertaker.

The Undertaker officially retired from WWE at Survivor Series 2020, 30 years after his debut. He may return to WWE in another capacity in the future. However, it’s unlikely he will return to the ring as a wrestler again.
