WWE and Tony Khan’s AEW are constantly battling each other to attract the most eyes to their shows. Both wrestling companies usually try to outclass each other in the same things. But they also have their own unique signatures. Recently, both companies got a bittersweet response for their broadcasting choices. Especially with the recent Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson episode in context.

WWE and AEW recently faced a broadcasting rights showdown that saw them compete for the same space. Fortunately, however, WWE and AEW now have their own partners panned out for the future. According to him, “On the other network (TBS), on the other low-class wrestling program (AEW), they don’t bleep the fans half the time when they’re saying, ‘you f***ed up, you f***ed up.’ So I know it’s a personal network preference and I’m broadcasting cable, but you know, goddamn it was so distracting.” Here, while TBS was praised, Cornette took a dig at AEW. But, he didn’t spare WWE either.

Cornette noted, “Wasn’t the WWE doing it in the truck because the Rock had no idea that some of his lines weren’t getting over? But uh they weren’t going across the broadcast I should say but anyway, the network was not happy with some of this.” Here, WWE was targeted for its crowd control failure.

Jim Cornette noted that while WWE may not have received the audio aspect of things right, its camera personnel did a really great job. He noted how the angles captured by the camera showcased the exact tension in the body language of Roman Reigns when he wasn’t acknowledged.

Cornette complimented the striking significance of the scene by WWE, where the Tribal Chief looked submerged by The Rock’s shadow. WWE constantly tries to elevate the visual experience it provides fans, especially during big promos and live events.
