Last night, Cody Rhodes decided to finish his story and challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship. Initially, he gave his spot to Dwayne Johnson and challenged Seth Rollins. However, after everything went down yesterday, it was made official that Rhodes will face Reigns at WrestleMania 40.

This led to Nick Aldis issuing a new challenge to find someone to face Rollins at WrestleMania. A twelve-man qualifying match was created where the winner of each singles match would get a spot in the Elimination Chamber. The winner of the Chamber match would face Rollins for the title at Mania.

Mysterio talked about his upcoming challenge during a backstage segment with Bryon Saxton. He proudly claimed that he would win the WWE World Heavyweight title at WrestleMania 40. He said, “And then Mami and I will have matching titles.” However, he was interrupted by Saxton, who told him that he didn’t even qualify yet.

To this, Mysterio retorted that he didn’t care who he had to face and that he would smack them. This led to the hilarious interruption of Kevin Owens, who is also competing for a spot in the Chamber. He said that he would dedicate the match to the greatest Luchador wrestler, Rey Mysterio, Dominik’s father.

As soon as the tournament was announced tonight, we got into the first qualifying match. This was between Drew McIntyre vs. AJ Styles. McIntyre won, and the second qualifying match was at the end of the night. This was between Randy Orton and Sami Zayn, and Orton won. Now, two places in the Chamber are taken.
