Mercedes Moné has been in the news lately for all the wrong reasons. She recently went off on a fan and people didn’t like her behavior one bit. But what she did recently will definitely make fans see her in a different light. She met up with the mother of a wrestler who tragically passed away in 2020.
Moné has also paid tribute to this same wrestler on SmackDown at the time of her death.

Hana Kimura was a big name in the Japanese wrestling circuit. She joined World Wonder Ring Stardom in 2016 and was with the promotion till her sad demise in 2020. She even wrestled alongside her mother Kyoko Kimura on several occasions.
On one such occasion, she won the prestigious Artist of Stardom Championship with her mother which is a three-woman tag team championship. She even went on to win the Goddess of Stardom Championship which was Stardom’s tag team championship. Kimura was also a cast member of the Netflix reality television series Terrace House: Tokyo 2019–2020.

But sadly in 2020, she was a victim of cyberbullying and committed suicide. This was a shock for the entire wrestling world and also for Mercedes Moné. And so she paid tribute to Kimura by wearing a black armband with the name Hana written on it on an episode of SmackDown.

She paid a bigger tribute to Kimura when she joined NJPW in 2023 by actually wearing ring gear which was exactly similar to the one that Kimura wore. And just yesterday, Moné posted a pic with Kimura’s mother Kyoko Kimura. The two were seen wearing their “End the Hate” Hana shirts.

The incident took place at the New York Comic Con where Moné was signing pictures for fans. One fan mentioned the reason why Moné left the WWE and that got her all riled up.
The fan said that he knew that Moné left the WWE because of creative issues. On hearing that, Moné in a snippy way went off on the fan and told him no.

Then when the fan asked her the real reason, she angrily replied, “Why would I just tell you?”. This video then went viral and wrestling fans were upset with her behavior. But it seems that Moné was just not thrilled about the question as she looked perfectly cordial in the picture.
