Adam Cole and Finn Balor share a special moment backstage

Ever since Karrion Kross had to give up his NXT title owing to his injury, the Gold and Black brand has been in search of its next champion. The fatal four way match between Adam Cole, Johnny Gargano, Finn Balor, and Tommaso Ciampa failed to secure the reigning champion.

This week, Balor and Cole stepped into the ring to finally allow the company to come to a decision.

Finn Balor secured the title by successfully pulling off an Avalanche 1916. In fact, the second he got into position for that, almost everyone immediately knew the match had come to its end.

Even the predictions for the match were in Balor’s favor. This is primarily because Adam Cole is looking to bring back the dominance he held at NXT when he was the reigning champion for 403 days. Unfortunately, he lost it to Keith Lee. It was a given that he could not secure the title within this short span.

On top of that, Finn Balor came to WWE NXT to show that he is the ultimate champion. Therefore, it was doubtful that he would have allowed Adam Cole to steal the thunder all over again.

Moreover, he mentioned that exactly why he returned to WWE NXT right after he showed his respect to Adam Cole.
