McMahon reportedly talked to this sports journalist for creative solutions and booking.
Dave Meltzer himself revealed that he has had an interesting connection with wrestling promoters apart from reviewing or reporting on the action in the ring of their companies. Since he has had plenty of experience with the sport of wrestling as a reporter, probably McMahon also found it comfortable to confide in him.

As a journalist and a wrestling industry insider, Meltzer often interacts with netizens to clear their doubts. He also often engages in debates surrounding the sport. Continuing a conversation with fans on a Twitter thread recently, Meltzer confessed a secret that he had.
We can notice in the Twitter thread initiated by Meltzer and wrestling fans that the journalist is defining how his job is to report and ask questions to wrestling companies and entities. One fan, however, questioned him about whether he had previously pitched booking ideas to WWE despite being a reporter.
Dave Meltzer confessed in his tweet, “Vince has called me and, yes, I write suggestions on ideas for every company constantly. Been doing that since 1972.”
The reporter claimed to have been assisting companies since 1972. Moreover, he has also helped McMahon after getting a call from him. Despite his claim, Meltzer didn’t reveal the exact way in which he assisted WWE.

On a recent Monday Night Raw episode Seth Rollins. took a shot at Roman Reigns. As a result, fans started predicting that they would face each other in a ‘champion vs champion’ match at Survivor Series ’23. However, Meltzer believes otherwise.

According to the wrestling journalist, the Stamford-based company won’t be going with this match even if they stick to the traditional ‘brand wars’ theme for their upcoming PLE. Although Meltzer didn’t reveal the reason behind his thought process, his authority in reporting for WWE and other pro wrestling companies means the match is less likely to happen.
