Real Reason Why Brock Lesnar Agreed to Put Over Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam

At SummerSlam 2023 in Detroit, fans witnessed history being created as Cody Rhodes kept Brock Lesnar down for the three count. After a trifecta of Cross Rhodes, Lesnar would be tired enough to get up. And incurred a los in the process.

However, this raised several questions about the legitimacy of the finish. While Rhodes still kept getting up despite a brutal beat down, Lesnar tasted defeat by just suffering three Cross-Rhodes. While the matches always have a predetermined winner, it also recently came to the limelight, why Brock Lesnar agreed to put Rhodes over at SummerSlam.

What is the main reason behind Brock Lesnar putting over Cody Rhodes during their third battle?

The rubber match at Detroit saw an ultimate victor emerge out of their heated rivalry. But speculations would soon arise as to why would The Beast Incarnate be defeated with just three finishers. But, the outcome was then traced back to four months earlier.

Prior to WrestleMania 39, Brock Lesnar would sit down with Daniel Cormier for an interview, where he opened up on the business, giving everything to him, and him wanting to give back to the business. He said, It’s time for me to start giving back to the business.”

Since it is time for Cody Rhodes to finally finish his story, this was an effective way of having the finisher look strong. With the Cross-Rhodes being able to finish Lesnar, it became an extremely strong and protected finisher in the business.

Analyzing Lesnar’s words, we can decipher that The Beast is entering the twilight of his career. And is currently enjoying whatever he is doing and intends to develop upcoming and younger talent in the business.

At WrestleMania 39, Lesnar would defeat Omos during their encounter. But also make The Nigerian Giant look extremely powerful in it. Furthermore, after incurring defeat at the hands of Rhodes at SummerSlam, he raised his hand and appreciated The American Nightmare’s performance.

It was an unscripted moment. Nevertheless, fans expressed their shock at Lesnar, seemingly passing the torch to Rhodes on his journey toward finishing his story.

But what could lie next in store for the revered WWE star?

What has WWE planned next for Brock Lesnar?

After the conclusion of his feud with Cody Rhodes, fans believe Brock Lesnar could go on a hiatus till early next year. Fans have been demanding a battle between Gunther and Brock Lesnar for a long time now. And with Gunther also stating Lesnar to be the final boss in his story, this feud would be unmatchable.

With only a few months left for WrestleMania 40. Fans believe The Beast Incarnate to go one on one with The Ring General at The Grandest Stage of them all.
