WWE and Vince McMahon are in very troubled waters at the moment. While McMahon is currently facing legal action after an ex-WWE employee exposed him, there is still a lot going on. The industry is especially attracting a lot of flak for the abrupt release of several WWE superstars hours after their new deal with USA Network to air SmackDown was announced.

It seems the releases were inevitable after the much-hyped TKO merger but it turns out there were hints before that as well. A social media post from a highly reputable source is going viral online, that explains the real reason behind the wrestlers’ helplessness.

The WWE has released several prominent wrestlers from its roster, like Dolph Ziggler, Rick Boogs, Mustafa Ali, and many more. While this isn’t the first time that WWE parted ways with its superstars in such numbers, the recent ones have a common pattern. A viral tweet on X (formerly Twitter) explained this vicious pattern and put it before the WWE Universe.

The tweet was posted by Sean Ross Sapp where he said, “One top star told Fightful Select that most of the list of releases barely had a chance considering they weren’t booked, and called it a circle that couldn’t be escaped.”

The careers of these wrestlers were forced through a drought before eventually releasing them. While Vince McMahon usually has the final word regarding everything that happens in WWE, these wrestlers couldn’t make a strong case because they weren’t even getting booked.

The most recent and unfortunate case belongs to that of Dolph Ziggler, who was released after he asked for some time off.

WWE terminates contract with Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler has enjoyed his days at WWE as both a midcarder and the WWE Champion. He was part of several interesting storylines while being a reliable performer on the roster and had several memorable moments in WWE. His Money in the Bank cash on RAW after WrestleMania 27 and his incredible sole survivor performance in the much talked about 2014 Team Cena vs. Team Authority at Survivor Series.

Ziggler fell prey to the same pattern exercised by Vince McMahon and was released by WWE. Sean Ross Sapp also broke the news of Ziggler’s release. Ziggler had not been booked ever since his last match on 29th May.

He had also started doing comedy gigs across various locations, which earned him the same love he enjoyed in the ring. However, despite already being unbooked, when Ziggler asked for some time off, the company has released him. Now, the wrestling superstar will have to look for a new venue to showcase his wrestling talents like many others.
