WWE’s favorite interviewer Renee Young left the company a few days ago after 8 long years in the company. Saying goodbye to WWE fans on live screen for the final time at SummerSlam, Young is set to move on to greener pastures.

In a recent interview on WWE’s The Bump, Young spoke about how it all began for her and how she became an interviewer in the first place.

“God! I think it was just saying ‘yes’ to whatever opportunities came my way and I was working at ‘The Score’ and they obviously aired all of WWE programming,” says Young, “so they wanted to start doing a post-WWE show, which seems to be a theme in my life. It all started there.”

Young describes how the opportunity to work with the WWE show suddenly came to her.

“My boss, Greg, sent Sony asking me if I would be in- I don’t know if  it was even asking if I wanted to, it was like-‘You’re doing this’ and I was like ‘Ok!’”

Reconnecting with her childhood, Young started discovering her love for WWE once again. She spent a while researching the happenings of the company but soon got into it again.

Renee Young loved WWE as a child

“I just dove headfirst into resubmerging myself back in the world of WWE. Of course, I was a fan when I was a kid and I just got super invested in the whole thing again and once my contract there was winding down and the opportunity came to join WWE, it just made the most sense,” explains Young. “It was just that thing that was like- ‘Of course that’s the thing that I’m gonna go do.’”

This decision proved profitable for Renee. She soon went from being a regular interviewer to one of the most loved faces during backstage segments. She also went on to meet her husband Jon Moxley during her time at WWE.

This November would mark 8 years in WWE. 8 years!! An opportunity of a lifetime with a global company to learn, grow, make history and do things beyond my wildest dreams before I left Toronto for this adventure. I made friends, family- literally family- I met my husband here (what a fucking dreamboat) and people that will be a part of my life forever. I did things Icouldn’t have even imagined or dreamt up. From backstage interviews, a reality show, Talking Smack, being the first woman to be a part of a WWE broadcast in Saudi Arabia, tbeing the first woman to sit at the commentary desk full time on Monday Night Raw, calling Wrestlemania, anchoring a brand new show with Fox Sports (which you guys will still be able to catch me on!) I’ve been so lucky. But it’s also been a lot of my hard work, drive and passion that’s landed me in these amazing spots. I’ve had such an incredible run with WWE. It’s changed my life. But that all leads me to now. What’s next? Do I stay satisfied with what I’ve done? Or do I go in pursuit of new barriers and goals in mind? I always choose the latter. I have no idea what that means or looks like, but it’s time for me to go. Time to roll the dice again and shake things up. Time to light that fire again and forge on. Time to say bye to Renee Young and reconnect with Renee Paquette and remember why I started this journey to begin with. And as the ride slows down- as the world slows down, I see it as my opportunity to make a move. So I just wanted to say thanks to WWE and to the all the fans that have been so damn cool to me over the years. And send a crap ton of love to all of my people. I’m excited for the future! Thanks for everything ❤️

She was also the co-host of the famous WWE show “Talking Smack”, which will be continued in her honor and will preserve her legacy.

Renee Young came a long way throughout an 8-year journey in the company and left on good terms. Although her chirpy smile and personality will be missed in WWE, she leaves with everyone’s good wishes and hearts.
