As an X user posted a picture of NXT talent Dragon Lee wearing a referee’s shirt and stated his busy schedule- the Luchador has gone from being just an NXT star to appearing at RAW, SmackDown, and a special guest referee at NXT No Mercy in the course of a week- Ripley commented.

According to her, Dom Dom wore the referee shirt better. “@DomMysterio35 looked a lot better in his stripes 🦓,” Ripley tweeted. Dirty Dom, who failed to defend his NXT North American Championship at the Mechanics Bank Arena, Theater and Convention Center in Bakersfield, California on September 30, was seen practicing his role as a referee, wearing a striped shirt a few weeks ago.

It is no secret that Dominik Mysterio is one of the fastest-growing heels in the business. By virtue of that, he has also made a significant number of detractors, one of whom is his own father. Rey Mysterio and Dominik’s kayfabe relationship has strained to such a point that it led to a match at WrestleMania 39, where the Hall of Famer used a belt to whoop his son and later won the bout.

Apart from publicly berating each other, the senior Mysterio has also extended his support towards Dragon Lee, whom he has hailed as the future of Lucha Libre. Thereby, Ripley’s comment of putting her Dom Dom ahead of Mysterio’s prodigy comes as a poke to the legend himself.

On the other hand, Rey Mysterio was seen praising his son a few days ago. While he called the praise unfortunate, The Master of 619 was happy with his son choosing to honor a tradition.

Will the relationship between the father and son get better in the future? It looks unlikely till the time Dominik Mysterio stays on as a member of The Judgment Day, but as WWE has taught us- never say never.
