“Rock Didn’t Try to Help Me”: Hatred for Dwayne Johnson Led to WWE Legend Treating Him Horribly in the Locker Room

Dwayne Johnson is now a top-tier Hollywood actor. However, he was a prominent WWE superstar before starting a successful Hollywood career. The Rock rose to fame during a time when the WWE was at the height of its glory.

Johnson’s quickly rising stardom received more than just admiration and praise. It also made several WWE stars envious of him. WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg confessed to being envious of The Rock while discussing this with Chris Van Vliet.

Dogg revealed his prior struggles with substance abuse during the conversation. Additionally, he mentioned that he had undergone rehabilitation and that some bridges had to be repaired during the process.

He stated, “100%. Like, look you, In the program of recovery I follow, there is some making amends parts to it. So I had to make that list. Jim Ross was one, The Rock was one for me, The Undertaker was one. These are guys that tried to help me.”

What made Road Dogg envious of Dwayne Johnson?

The Rock is perhaps the best wrestler to have become popular beyond the WWE. In addition, that explains why Dogg treated him so badly.

He stated, “Well Rock didn’t try to help me but I was mean to him because I was jealous of him and he was a threat to me, because he could do everything that I could do, but he looked frigging great too.”

“You know what I mean, it was like, son of a bee sting, you’ve got everything. And at that time in my life, that bothered me. I was afraid of that. Like I said, he was a threat to me, so I treated him horribly in front of everybody all the time.”

Moreover, he mentioned that when he attempted to amend The Rock and he told Dogg, “Thank you, that’s nice to say.” In addition, he says he still communicates with the WWE stars he mistreated.
