Ronda Rousey Shuts Down Rumors About Her and Stone Cold Steve Austin

The Baddest Woman on The Planet tasted defeat from Charlotte Flair last night at WrestleMania Day 1. The ex-UFC star returned to the ring this year after taking a 3-year break to focus on family. The fight had some crucial moves from both as they created a combat-heavy atmosphere. But in the end, ‘The Queen’ outsmarted Ronda Rousey to retain her SmackDown title.
However, in the aftermath of the day 1 match, some reports suggested that Rousey was angry as the ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin vs Kevin Owens match was given the major spot. Rousey though denied the rumors as she considered performing under Austin an honor. Initially, the match between Rousey and Flair was supposed to be the main event of the night.

Rousey Denies Reports Of Being Unhappy With WrestleMania 38 Spot
Since Ronda Rousey challenged Charlotte Flair after winning the Royal Rumble, it was definite that the main event will be theirs. Recently, Rousey appeared on The Ellen Show before WrestleMania, and said, “I’m gonna be in the main event for the second time. I was part of the first main event with women and this is now the third. So, it’s becoming almost something that doesn’t need to be mentioned anymore, which is the goal.”

But as ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin decided to return to the ring for one last match after the constant provoking from Kevin Owens, the major spot and focus went to the WWE Hall of Famer. Rousey’s statement then contradicted the WrestleMania match card. Moreover, there were reports that Rousey was “furious” at WWE for snubbing their main event spot for Stone Cold. Yesterday, Rousey tweeted that those rumors were untrue.

I don’t know where these “reports” come from but it was an absolute honor to perform under Steve Austin at Wrestlemania in Texas-I wasn’t a hall of fame because I have a six month old baby I had to put to sleep early. People are literally creating drama out of thin air

Ronda Rousey was no less than thrilled to perform before the tremendous fandom. However, her effort to come back to the ring after having a baby just 5 months ago is most admirable. Possibly, she will continue with the company to work towards the next match in WWE SmackDown.

‘ Rowdy’ returned to the ring after a 3-year gap, but that did not seem to affect her as she performed quite efficiently with her signature moves and fieriness. Although she showed some signs of rust, she was the first superstar to overcome Flair‘s figure-eight finishing maneuver. Further, in the finishing stage, ‘The Queen’ accidentally speared referee Charles Robinson. Later, he woke up and counted the pinfall.
