The pro wrestling world is yet to heal up from the unbearable loss of Bray Wyatt. Wyatt’s unexpected demise plunged everyone into a state of shock and sadness. It brought a host of heavyweights, including Dwayne The Rock Johnson, under a dense cloud of gloom.

To add to DJ’s heartbreak, the day overlaps with his late father, Rocky Johnson’s birthday. While giving an emotional tribute to his father, the aggrieved star re-uttered some of his father’s philosophy to reassure himself amidst the ongoing agony.

It was very rare for us to see DJ in a melancholic mood. It just doesn’t go with his happy-go-lucky persona. But The Rock also has to take off his rock-solid exterior just like he did after Wyatt passed away. It deeply saddened him. It also reminded him of a dark truth of life that his father once taught him.

Johnson’s gigantic £800 million career might be contradictory to the grappling childhood he spent. At one point in time, DJ, along with his family, was ousted from their home because of the inability to pay the rent.

In 2003, following his parents’ divorce after being together for 30 years, things get more difficult for a young Johnson. When he was too naïve to understand the benefit of the miseries of life, his father used to preach to him about it.

In his birthday tribute to his wise dad, he recalled those golden words to make himself more resilient to deal with the current testing time. DJ noted, ”Rough day yesterday, but forced me to search for those silver lining blessings – that you realize, if look hard enough, those silver linings are usually right there in front of you on the hardest of days.”

The Rock thoroughly adopted Rocky Johnson’s way of seeing life as he fought many battles on his way to the top of the world and even now, he keeps on fighting against the odds without settling for a second.

Dwayne Johnson manned up to reveal his history of depression

Dwayne Johnson isn’t a man of all waves of laughter and flying colors, even if he carries the image of the same pretty smoothly. Rather, he is a man, shaped by the severe struggle and pain that life offered him on a seemingly aesthetic platter. The tough guy of the squared circle has successfully bounced back from several phases of clinical depression.

As a teenager, seeing his mother attempting suicide, coping with the difficulty of arranging the bare minimum of daily necessities, and then giving up his college football career, had him in a loop of mental instability. While he wasn’t that well aware of the term depression back then, the effect was no less.

Speaking of his most recent anxiety attack, it struck hard when he had a divorce with his former wife and present business partner, Dany Garcia, after ten years of a happy marriage.

But the ‘macho’ man of Holywood didn’t give up and continued to rise above all the adversities as he should have. Just a ‘like father, like son’ stuff for you.
