The countdown for the 2024 Royal Rumble has begun. Fans across the globe are just a few hours away from the big night that will kick off the Road to WrestleMania 40. Tonight, there will be many attractions such as the Fatal-4-Way match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship title, a brawl between Kevin Owens and Logan Paul for the United States Championship title, and the main event, the Women’s and the Men’s Royal Rumble matches.

However, it looks like fans might get to see a star from another promotion tonight. The promotion in question is something that fans couldn’t have expected.

A cross-promotional appearance at the WWE Royal Rumble?

According to Raj Giri, there have been whispers in the industry that WWE is working on its relationship with the Nashville-based pro wrestling promotion, TNA. As Giri has stated, the relationship between the two promotions will be reaching a new height and its result will be seen at Royal Rumble tonight.

Things between the two promotions have changed since TNA got into an agreement with WWE’s parent company, Endeavor Group. On December 9, 2023, it was reported by TNA that they will be partnering with Endeavor Streaming to help develop a streaming service for the fans of TNA.

This led to speculations that WWE might eventually acquire the promotion. Other speculations included that the two promotions are trying to partner up. While this theory was later debunked, it looks like tonight fans will get an update on it.

One thing to notice here is that Giri mentioned some “surprises” for tonight. In the context of Royal Rumble, it could only mean one thing.

Is someone returning to WWE?

While there are no reports of someone from TNA who might potentially return for the men’s Royal Rumble tonight, the same could not be said about the women’s Royal Rumble match. There have been pretty strong rumors and speculations that WWE is trying its best to get Trinity Fatu a.k.a Naomi back to WWE. Fatu had accompanied Sasha Banks back in 2022 when the two decided to leave WWE.

The promotion might be trying hard to get Naomi and their efforts might have worked. Both Banks and Naomi were spotted alongside Bayley in a cafe in Florida on Friday, January 26. Giri’s statement makes more sense now because Naomi is a star at TNA and has a few matches lined up for her. This possible cross-promotion appearance will work in favor of both the companies and Fatu’s contract may not suffer from it.
