Sami Zayn Explains How His “Impatience” Nearly Brought a Sad End to the Iconic Bloodline Storyline – “There Were Doubts”

If you have been following WWE for quite a while then you must be aware of the ‘Honorary Uce’. That in-ring character of Sami Zayn gave a new direction to the Bloodline storyline, last year. And as a result, the storyline became one of the most popular WWE angles of all time.

But can you imagine, this level of success without Sami Zyan? Zayn’s character added a curiosity to the storyline that WWE Universe was craving. And imagining the fate of Bloodline without his character is almost impossible. However, the imagination could have been the reality as Zayn’s impatience almost ruined the storyline during the initial days.

Sami Zayn reveals how he almost abandoned The Bloodline

In the recent episode of ‘After the Bell with Corey Graves’, Sami Zayn pulled the drapes of the time when he almost gave up on the Bloodline storyline in the WWE.

Zayn revealed that initially there were doubts about his angle in the storyline, not only from his side but from other members of the creative department as well (Zayn didn’t mention the names).

He said that he was also impatient and was ready to abandon the storyline in the middle as he didn’t see it going in the right direction.

Talking to the host, Zayn said, “There were doubts as to whether it should even happen. Even in its early infancy sort of stage of it all. Then, for me, going back to a question…… about impatience. There was a point when I was actually very impatient with the storyline and I was almost ready to abandon ship and just say, ‘Okay, we need to start moving on in a different direction if this isn’t going to go where it needs to go.’”

However, Sami Zayn didn’t quit and eventually got a huge push in the WWE. Several legends and critics loved his role in The Bloodline which includes WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker as well.

The Undertaker was a fan of Zayn’s performance in the Bloodline

A few months back, when Sami Zayn betrayed Roman Reigns, WWE legend The Undertaker revealed that he loved the ‘Honorary Uce’ angle in the storyline.

The ‘Deadman’ mentioned that everyone is aware of Roman Reigns and his power in The Bloodline, but Zayn’s character added uncertainty in that which made fans hooked to the storyline.

Not one the fans, but Sami Zayn also got a huge benefit from his ‘Honorary Uce’ gimmick. He got a huge push and even main evented WrestleMania this year. And on top of that, he became the fan-favorite WWE superstar.

Currently, Zayn is the undisputed WWE tag team champion with his best friend Kevin Owens. And with all the hype around him, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the former ‘Honorary Uce’ would get more opportunities in the future.
