The latest AEW Dynamite episode marked Chris Jericho’s 30 years in the industry. AEW didn’t disappoint Le Champion as it organized a huge celebration in his honor. It involved MJF, a clown, a Judas Effect, and a stare-down.

Chris Jericho and Jake Hager were in the ring to face off against Project Chaos (Luther and Serpentico). This was also the main event of the night. After a hard-fought battle, Jericho and Hager emerged victorious. Following the win, Jericho started addressing the audience at the Daily’s place. Right at that moment, MJF’s music echoed through the arena.

However, upon entering the ring, MJF asked the team to cut his music because this night was about Jericho. He entered the ring and showered Jericho with praises and appreciation. In fact, MJF had come with some special gifts including a clown and a wrapped present.

Upon opening the present, it was revealed to be a portrait of MJF. Chris Jericho thanked MJF for the gift before taking out the clown with the portrait. He ended this segment by asking MJF never to interrupt him again, and then both of them broke into laughter.

AEW copied WWE for Jericho’s thirty years’ celebration

This entire gift segment was almost a replica of a segment The Rock pulled off during the Attitude Era in 2002. Back then, The Rock entered the ring with gifts for the entire Nation of Domination.

He gifted $15,000 worth of Rolex watches to Kamal Mustafa, D’Lo Brown, and Mark Henry. On the other hand, he claimed that the only individual who can lead the entire nation was Faarooq. Therefore, to give him a special gift, The Rock presented him with a wrapped present.

When Faarooq unwrapped it, he realized it was a portrait of The Rock. Of course, it did not sit well with him and towards the end of the segment, he demolished the entire portrait, leaving The Rock flustered.

MJF’s antics on Dynamite were certainly inspired by this iconic moment from the Attitude Era.
