Moreover, The Rock has also proved to be a good sport, taking jibes at himself and uploading it on social media. One such video was shared by him on Instagram recently. The content of the video was a roast from comic James Andre Jefferson Jr. Jefferson Jr went on a rant about Johnson’s wax likeness now being displayed at the Grevin Museum in the French capital.

As usual, he commented about the artist getting Johnson’s skin tone wrong. He further argued that the whitewashing of Johnson’s likeness must have been a revenge for casting Halle Bailey- a black actor- as Ariel in Disney’s The Little Mermaid movie. The said character is perceived as white, hence the reference from the comic.

Appreciating the rant, Johnson expressed his amusement over it. “For the record, I’m going to have my team reach out to our friends at Grevin Museum, in Paris France 🇫🇷 so we can work at “updating” my wax figure here with some important details and improvements- starting with my skin color 🤣✊🏾💪🏾,” the Brahma Bull joked.

He also revealed his next plan featuring the statue. “And next time I’m in Paris, I’ll stop in and have a drink with myself,” Johnson said. But, his followers aren’t as upbeat as the wrestler-turned-actor himself about the artwork.

What is the common concern about Dwayne Johnson’s wax statue?

People have pointed out the issue with the skin tone, but they have also had a few other things to say about it. Some have also stated that the wax statue hardly resembles the person whose name has been attached to the work.

Many Facebook users joked that it looked like a combination of Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel, both of whom sport a rugged, bald look.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time Dwayne Johnson has joked about his own likeness. Last year, he made fun of his own wax statue. He is also not the first celebrity whose likeness has received criticism from fans for inaccuracies. While some work captures every detail to the T, others just miss the mark and the one at the Paris museum apparently didn’t quite turn out like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
