Stone Cold Steve Austin Shows His Humble Side Post Epic WrestleMania Return

‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin left the ring 19 years ago after an incredible run at WWE. Although there are several far-famed legends with illustrious careers, no one has the popularity and impact that ‘The Texas Rattlesnake’ has. After his retirement, he has made occasional appearances in WWE but never wrestled a match.

The WWE fandom went wild when Stone Cold announced his return after the constant taunting from Kevin Owens. And Yesterday, in front of his 70,000 cheering fans in his home state, Dallas, Texas, Steve Austin put on a mind-blowing show in his one last match.

Austin, though, is not one to brag after a stupendous performance. In the post-match interview with WWE, Austin 3:16 shifted focus to appreciating the other great matches.

Steve Austin retired from the sport as he had serious injuries that controlled him since 1997. His last match was against The Rock in 2003, where he had to lose and leave with a heavy heart. Moreover, the feeling of not being able to conclude in a fitting way always haunted him and the WWE universe. So, that’s when Kevin Owens came in and called out him as a ‘guest’ on his show.

After the stunning No Holds Barred match, Stone Cold had a brief exclusive interview with WWE. The interviewer asked him about his return and how it was not a surprise to him that KO was calling him out for the match.

Austin said, “I came here looking for anything. This is where I started. I was lucky enough to finish here. KO is outstanding, but he ran his mouth a little too much and it finally caught up with him. It was really an honor to be here on such a stacked card with so many great matches.

Further, he added, “You love the crowd and the guys and gals before me had so many great matches. It’s really hard to follow that, but you live and die by that crowd. And this crowd is so faithful, so loyal and so rambunctious. They’re behind everything you do. So, I give a shoutout to the WWE superstars who worked before me, the ones who work tomorrow night.

The matches before and after him were extraordinary as well. Especially the RAW Women’s Championship match where Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch carried out an epic fight that ended up with Bianca outperforming Lynch to win the title.
