John Cena has begun to find his feet as a top Hollywood actor. After a few hits and misses, the former WWE Champion has solidified his place in the upper echelons of Hollywood with his recent roles. Cena’s rise to fame came from his inclusion in DC’s Suicide Squad, where he played the role of antihero Peacemaker.

Following the success of the movie, Cena even landed his own TV series of the same character. Although Cena is relatively new to the Hollywood and his relation with many of his co-actors may be fresh, a famous Hollywood actress once revealed her weird connection with John Cena that goes way back.

The success of the Suicide Squad 2 definitely gave Cena a major career boost. The movie also starred reputed actors like Margot Robbie, Sylvester Stallone, and Idris Elba, alongside Cena.

After a few insights into the movie, Margot Robbie revealed he had a John Cena connection in her life when she was younger.

John Cena starred as ‘The Peacemaker’ in DC’s second iteration of the Suicide Squad in 2021. The movie also saw Idris Elba play the role of Bloodsport while Margot Robbie reprised her role of Harley Quinn from the first movie.

The movie was a massive success for Cena and DC at the box office. Last year, Cena appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote his latest movie. The episode also saw director James Gunn and Margot Robbie.

The host, Anthony Anderson asked Robbie to shed light on her history with John Cena before the two became co-stars on the sets of Suicide Squad. The Australian actress revealed that she was a WWE fan growing up and then shared her John Cena experience.

She said, “I watched WWE when I was growing up. When I was a kid, I loved the Undertaker, and then obviously when I was a teenager I kind of stopped watching.” The $26 million worth actress then stated that her ex-boyfriend whom she stayed with, was a huge fan of Cena.

The Harley Quinn actresses said, “But as a late teen, early 20s, I had a boyfriend who was obsessed with John Cena. So much so that he dressed as John Cena for his 21st birthday and had a cardboard cutout of John Cena in his bedroom.”

Moreover, she added, “I slept in a room for two years with a life-sized cardboard cutout of John Cena in the room. Sometimes I’d wake up in the middle of the night and be like oh, it’s just John Cena, it’s okay.”

She further said that she mentioned this story to John Cena when the pair first met on the sets of Suicide Squad. Robbie is one of the most popular names in Hollywood. While she dated an ardent John Cena fan, the actress came to know about the huge fame of the 16-time-world-champion.
