There are many great wrestlers who have graced fans with their incredible presence. Then there are some who can be termed as extraordinary with what they have achieved in their careers. These are once-in-a-lifetime performers who have made a substantial impact in the industry.

Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart can certainly be termed as one of those iconic athletes the likes of which are very hard to match. He has inspired a full crop who have taken up wrestling because of him. A female WWE wrestler who is quite close to the legend recently revealed his impact on sports entertainment.

There are not many things that Hart has not achieved during a storied career. He, along with HBK Shawn Michaels, can be credited with breaking the mold of an ‘ideal’ wrestler during the 90s. Natalya Neidhart, or only Natalya, recently talked to Toronto Sun about the impact that the 5-time WWE champion has had on the business and the golden words he said to her.

Natalya speaks about the impact Bret Hart had on WWE

She said, “People still talk about Bret’s work today. He had an incredible 14-year career in WWE. Bret helped elevate so many people during his career. And that’s what Bret said to me: don’t ever sell yourself short or take for granted what you’ve accomplished in your career.

Bret has said that he feels like he’s now more celebrated and honoured than he was even when he was competing. People are still watching his matches today, saying he inspired them. Roman Reigns has said that Bret was one of the reasons he wanted to get into the business.” added Natalya.

The wisdom he imparted to Natalya has led to her having a long and fruitful career. She has been the SmackDown women’s champion as well as held the women’s tag title. The fact that Hart was the reason the current undisputed WWE champion Roman Reigns entered the business is further proof of his greatness.

Not that he requires any, as his long list of accolades speaks for themselves. Hart has seen his fair share of controversies as well during his time in wrestling.

Hart’s stellar WWE career has had some blemishes

He found himself on the wrong side during the infamous ‘Montreal Screwjob’ of 1997. The incident was so shocking that it jolted fans as well as wrestlers. The former chairman Vince McMahon along with a handful of his loyalists were the prime orchestrators behind it. It wasn’t until 2010 that the two involved parties reconciled on the matter.

Natalya is also the niece of the legend and was trained by him at the iconic Hart Dungeon. She is scheduled to compete in the upcoming Elimination Chamber match. The winner of the match at the dangerous structure will face Raw women’s champion, Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 39. All the participants in the upcoming encounter were part of a six-women tag match at the recent episode of the red brand.

The wrestling community cannot thank Bret Hart enough for his immense contribution to wrestling. And niece Natalya’s recent comments highlights he has inspired the who’s who of the current lot. And his influence is guaranteed on the future stars as well.
