The Undertaker, a name that sends chills down the spines of wrestling faithful even today. While many characters have arrived and left the WWE, none have ever quite left a mark such as this legend. Taker made his WWE debut in the 1990 Survivor Series as part of Ted DiBiase’s ‘Million Dollar Team’. And went on to capture the imagination of fans for three decades. His mystical aura and dead-eyed mannerisms made him stand out above the rest of the roster. It is unimaginable even to think of WWE without The Phenom.
However, there was a time in the 1990s when the WWE legend considered making a switch to the rival promotion WCW.

A promotion where he appeared for a brief instant under the blink-and-miss persona “Mean Mark” Calaway. The 90s had seen many famous wrestlers such as Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan jump ship to join the erstwhile WCW.
And the speculation mill was always buzzing about who could be the next WWE performer to switch allegiances. Taker was also a part of the ‘Bone Street Krew’. The backstage group featured many notable names from the promotion. Greats such as Yokozuna, The Godfather, Rikishi, and Henry O. Godwinnn were also a part of the group.
Did The Undertaker ever consider joining the WCW?
Godwinn was one half of the iconic tag team The Godwinns that graced the WWE in the 1990s. The second member of the team was Phineas I Godwinn. The duo appeared on The Monte & Pharoah podcast recently. They were asked whether The Undertaker ever considered joining the WCW in the 90s.
Henry O Godwinn replied, “One time, it was brought up between just our little group and he {Taker} was talking about if I go, everybody’s going, so Thank god it didn’t, look what happened.”
