Th Hulkster, who was backstage at WrestleMania 30, called the Undertaker-Lesnar match, his favorite of the night. But he said the ending of the streak was tough for him to take, especially after his famous WCW rival made his WWE debut in the same year. Hulk Hogan said WWE could have had a massive match if the streak was intact

To say that the ending of The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak was a shocking moment would be an understatement. Even after the match had ended, the fans were in utter disbelief.

They couldn’t grasp the scale of what had just happened. The reaction of Paul Heyman who was with Brock Lesnar at ringside, the fans in the attendance, and the fact that WWE didn’t play Lesnar’s music straightway after the win made it a true iconic moment in wrestling history.

As the reality sank in, fans and wrestlers debated whether the streak should’ve ended. Some said it was the right thing to do, while others believed the streak should’ve carried on. Many fans also thought someone other than The Beast should have ended the streak.

In the same year the streak ended, WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan was part of a conference call to promote a special broadcast of WrestleMania 30 on NBC.

During the call, The Immortal One shared his thoughts on the WrestleMania 30 matches. He said that the Brock Lesnar-Undertaker match was his favorite. Hogan also gave his opinion on the decision to end the streak and said it was tough for him to take.

He then said it was especially hard because of the impending arrival of the WCW icon Sting in WWE. Hogan said he believed that WWE could have had an epic match for the streak between his WCW rival and The Phenom.

Hogan stated, “Then, all of a sudden, Sting shows up on the scene. And I’m going ‘Oh my gosh, that would have been the match of all matches to have Sting and The Undertaker go at it if the streak wasn’t broken.

However, he said it caught him in two-minds over the finish. The former WWE Champion added, “I’m kind of torn on the finish. It was done for a reason, a business reason.”

Indeed, the ending of the streak and the subsequent arrival of Sting felt like WWE missed the opportunity to have a dream for the ages.

Sting made his surprise WWE at Survivor Series in 2014 and confronted Triple H. Moreover, the Icon would go on to wrestle The Game at WrestleMania 31, where The Undertaker also competed.
